  • WHO WE ARE

    MEET THE “TEAM” - WE’RE FRIENDLY… HONEST!

We design, format, print, and paint 3D printed models. Our passion is creating objects to delight and inform - from concept to design, from printing to display.

Our broad range of skills and machines means we can reproduce anything from a pipistrel skull to a Martian volcano. Whether a virus or a meteorite nothing helps inform like a model in hand.

Our small oak-frame chapel overlooking the North Sea houses multiple FDM and SLA printers, as well as 3D scanners, high-end computers, sanders, airbrushes, and hammers for when things need “fixing”. We have all the tools and skills needed to tackle any modelling challenge (within reason). We mostly print in PLA plastic used in biodegradable and compostable packaging - this means most of our models are recyclable and degradable and will one day return to nature.

Our maps are based on satellite and LIDAR data, formatted and edited to print in gorgeous detail. They range in size from small tabletop pieces of 10cm squared or less, to large multi-piece wall maps up to 1 meter squared. We offer some off-the-shelf maps of famous locations but also offer commission pieces.

We’ve produced production lines of up to 250 items (more than 9000 hours print-time). We’ve done art maps, fantasy maps, annotated maps, non-terrestrial maps (Mars and the Moon). From Pennsylvanian to Penrith, from Lake Tahoe to Mont Blanc - having complete nearly a hundred commission pieces, we know our maps…

Specialist Models: Macromolecules to Atoms

IMG_9658.jpg

We produce a range of specialist commissions from edited hand held statues for the visually impaired to animal tracks for learning about the natural world. We’re particularly proud of our Covid-19 model. Frustration with a lack of accurate models of the Covid-19 virion we researched, designed, and printed our own model of the SARS-CoV-2 virion. This includes accurate prints of the proteins associated with the virion’s surface. Ours is one of the most accurate and cost-effective teaching aids on the market. we even have an affordable origami version for younger school-aged children.

Nature and Anatomy: Skulls Big and Small.

For us, watching and understanding the local wildlife was how we became fascinated by science. Our first 3D prints were of skulls from local birds and mammals. We’re lucky to be based somewhere rich in wildlife. We currently offer a large range 3D printed cruelty-free skulls and have complete sets for institutional clients from Oxford to Dorset and exhibited alongside the Natural History Museum’s Wildlife Photographer of the year exhibition on multiple occasions.

Replicas: Old and Ancient.

Some of Mankind’s earliest art was sculpted in stone, ivory, and clay. You can own you’re own copy of some of these founding artworks, such as the Venus of Willendorfone. We’ve moved on from the Paliolithic and also produce replicas of Roman, Anglo-Saxon and Medival finds and curios. These replica prints are highly accurate and finished to look as life-like as possible.
