As passionate model makers, we believe nothing compares to seeing and holding something to help understand it. Whether you’re in elementary school or studying at university seeing is believing. Would misinformation surrounding the pandemic be as substantial if the enemy wasn’t invisible? So while the battle against Covid-19 continues, we hope our small part played through model making helps spread awareness and understanding.
The 3D Printed Virion Model
Our 3D printed model of the complete virion is our flagship model at Chapel Prints Co. The research required to render an accurate digital model all the way through to the final coat of paint; the entire assembly of this model has been done in-house. We have pained over every detail. The 3D Printed Proteins of Covid-19
Our large and accurate model of the SARS-CoV-2 surface proteins offers a unique insight into the workings of the virus. This item is particularly hard to produce taking around 400 hours of print time and many man-hours in assembly, finishing, and painting. It is however a brilliant centerpiece to any scientifically interested person or institution.
The Origami Virion Model
Our Origami Virion Model offers a cheaper alternative to the 3D printed models. Ideal for those studying science classes at school, the paper model shows all the key features of the Covid-19 Virion. Our digital model has been used to created a surface texture which includes the M and E proteins. The trimeric nature of the multiple Spike protein conformations denoted by the light blue, dark blue and green tetrahedrons. Although a difficult and fiddley origami build the process of making it is an idea way to make the theoretical science of the pandemic more real.

We will also soon offer single protein prints of the Spike, Membrane, and Envelope proteins of Covid-19. These smaller simpler models are our cheapest 3D printed Covid-19 models offering impressive scientific accuracy for less.
