Venus of Brassempouy Hand Painted 3D Print Paleolithic Replica

from £10.00
The rough stylised features of the Palaeolithic goddess of Venus figurines are a uniting hallmark of their design, but the Venus of Brassempouy is a notable exception. The skill and intricacy of this sculpture can be seen in the delicate carved features of the feminine face, long swan like neck, and fine nose and brow, etched patterns showing braided hair or perhaps a hood or wig.

Only the head and neck of this Venus have been found, possibly a fragment of a larger piece. Carved into mammoth ivory the item is small about 3.6cm tall by approximately 2cm wide.

The sculpture was excavated in Brassempouy south Western France along with various other ivory figurines all of which date to around 25,000 BC. A skill piece of artwork, perhaps based on a real face from all those generations ago.

Our 3d printed PLA replica is life sized and painted and finished to be as realistic as possible. Printed to an accuracy of 0.1mm and based on a digital scan of the original, there is no better way to appreciated this founding piece of art history than to hold it in your hand.

A rare chance to own a unique and quality model designed by ancient-man and reproduced using modern 3D printing.

*each figurine is printed and finished on demand, and each will vary slightly in colour and appearance.
